The Bryan Press, September 1, 1948, p.3, Mrs. Lillie Mae Clemens, 75,of Williams county passed away Sunday at the home of her brother, W. R. Smith, in Dayton, O.
A former resident of Bryan, she was the widow of Clifford Clemens who operated a barber shop here for many years. For many years, she was a correspondent of the Bryan Press, writing the Williams Center news items. She was a Past Chief of the Pythian Sisters. She was a daughter of George and Lucretia Smith, and was born in Allentown, Ohio. Surviving are her brother, and four sisters, Mrs.Cora Langley of Cleveland, Mrs. C.E. Geason of Akron, Marie Santa Cruze of Havana, Cuba, and Gertrude Vacke of New London, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at the Evangelical United Brethern church at two o'clock Wednesday afternon with the Rev. Victor C. Rosebuck officiating. Interment was in Brown cemetery.
