Edward A. Kalefleiter, 88, West Point, died unexpectedly at his home at 7:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, 1978.
He was born Nov. 8, 1889, in West Point and was a lifelong resident of the community. He retired from the Kaltefleiter Heating and Plumbing Co. five years ago. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church in West Point and the Holy Name Society of that church and an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus, West Point Council.
On Jan. 17, 1911, in St. Mary's church, West Point, he married Catherine Naschert, who preceded him in death Nov. 10, 1976.
Survivors include six sons, John, Joseph, Leonard, Bernard, William and Raymond, all of West Point; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Huffman, also of West Point; 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and a grandchild. His parents were John and Mary Meyertholen Kaltefleiter.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Church in West Point with the Rev. Francis Lenoch officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. The body was at the Link Funeral Home in West Point. A memorial has been establishsed with St. Mary's Church in West Point.
Pallbearers were Don Kaltefleiter, Maurice Kaltefleiter, Clem Schutte, Vincent Peitz, Stace Schutte, and Dick Peitz.
