In 1910 we find Homer and Carrie living on Indiana tStreet in Waterville with the children; Esther, Willard, George and Ruth and Homer was working as a fireman at the stone quarry.

Homer was an intelligent man and was very mechanically minded, able to preform and manual building task with superior skill. He was an accomplished cement finisher. having poured some of the first sidewalks in Toledo, Ohio. He was also a factory worker, laborer, and contractor.

Homer loved to garden and was an early advocate of raised beds - today's rage.

Had it not been for Homer's problem with alcohol, life for his family may have been much different. But in spite of what seem an unstable childhood, Carrie and Homer's children possess the understanding virtues of being truly caring, loving and responsible person maintaining close family ties.

Carrie died at 281 Summer Street Toledo, Ohio, on Sunday September 15, 1940 and is buried in the Waterville Cemetary.
