The son of Samuel D. Edgmon and Sarah (Pierce) Edgmon. He married Miss Mary 'Polly' Casey in Rhea County, TN on 4 April 1832. Killed (Bushwacked) during the Civil War. Varying accounts all run along the same line. Served the Confederacy by working the salt peter caves near Boxley to produce gunpowder. He was ambushed and killed by a neighbor, Benjamin F.
