Lloyd Kenneth Edmondson

Lloyd Kenneth Edmondson, 91, Stillwater, died Saturday, April 26, 2002. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Lost Creek United Methodist Church. Reverend Max Rudd will officiate. Internment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Strode Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Jim Irwin, Dennis Henry, Bob Silvers, Buddy Moore, Raymond Kinzie, Doyle Kirby, Keith Harris and Doug Griffin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Garry West, David Moffit, Earl Adkins, Kenneth Reid, Richard Rains, Paul Marshall, David Allen, Scrub Dollins, Walter Watkins, Bob Blair, Randy Hall, Larry Francis and Randy Jarvis.

Edmondson was born July 8, 1910 to Corta Mitchell and Lela Elma (Sharp) Edmondson in the Lake Carl Blackwell area. He wed Evelyn Jones in 1929 in Tulsa. This union ended in divorce. He then wed Addie Fern Retherford on Nov. 24, 1943 at the Lost Creek United Methodist Church. She predeceased him on May 9, 2000.

He attended Cherokee School, which was located in the area that is now Lake Carl Blackwell. Later, he worked on the dam and lake area clearing, quarrying, burning wood and as a night watchman. He served on the Board of Trustees at Lost Creek United Methodist Church and did repairs at the church and parsonage, mowed the grass and helped with money raising efforts, which was often at the Payne County Fair. He taught Sunday school for many years and was the church treasurer for nine years. He served on the Soil Conservation Board and was a member of the ASCS and was a Lay Delegate at the Annual Church Conference.

Edmondson is predeceased by his parents, wife, one sister, 11 brothers and two great-grandsons.

He is survived by two sons, Rex Ormand Edmondson and his wife Edith of Kamiah, Idaho, and Kenneth Dwight Edmondson and his wife Linda of Stillwater; three daughters, Clara Davis and her husband Jim of Arizona, Patsy Ruth Ralston of Wichita, Kan., and Kathleen Marie Woods and her husband Grady of Stillwater.; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, Martie and Tom Hall, Colleen and Danny Llanes, Glenna and Bob Cramer, Rex and Janice Edmondson, Robert Edmondson, Ron and DeLana Edmondson, Randy Edmondson, Steven and Karen Woods, Bryan and Janice Woods, Jennifer Talley, Brad Talley, Linda and Brad Purcell, Paula Jackson, and John and Sarah Jackson; and several great great grandchildren.
