Alice Jane Mattiuzzi died peacefully on April 13, 2010 at age 89. Born in Cloverdale in 1920, she lived in Vallejo most of her life with her husband of 45 years, Ben Mattiuzzi, who preceded her in death. A graduate of Dominican College, Mrs. Mattiuzzi taught for over 50 years in schools throughout Vallejo. Alice was an active member of St. Vincent's parish and the Italian Catholic Federation. She is survived by her children: Beth Elliott of Oakland, Paul and wife Cici of Sacramento, and George and wife Lauren of Houston; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Benjamin, and Noah; and her brother, Edward Sanford and wife Barbara of Oakland. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM on Friday April 16 at Twin Chapels in Vallejo(1100 Tennessee Street). A Rosary will be said at 4:30. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent's Church. Interment will be at All Souls Cemetery, and a reception will follow. The family requests that donations be made to St.Vincent/St. Patrick's High School.
