Inez Bradley, 101, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, in a local nursing canter.
Memorial services will be 10:30 AM Friday, May 15th, at the Stith Cemetery in Jones County with Jacky Reynolds officiating, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home. Dovie Inez was born January 24, 1908, at Sipe Springs in Comanche County, Texas, to William Albert and Leona Dovie (Matheny) Dishman. She married J. Deward "J.D." Bradley, June 29, 1933. He preceded her in death February 20, 1968,Inez was a member of Merkel First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who loved her yard and garden. Not knowing when her life here would end, an excerpt from her poem "The Old Woman By The Side Of The Road" written at age 94 tells it all:"Old Father TimeCalled for his tollThe old Woman Has reached her goal."Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Welch of Abilene; her son, Canon Bradley and wife Barbara of Cincinnati, OH; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; 3 daughters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, her husband, 2 sons, a daughter, and a granddaughter. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
