Lem R. Roberts, of Whitfield, manager of the dairy at the state mental institution, died Friday morning at Whitfield hospital following a heart attack. His age was 65.
He was a member of Goodwater Baptist church near Magee.
Services will be conducted from Goodwater Baptist church at 2:30 p. m. Friday. Interment will be in the Goodwater cemetery. Rev. Don Land. Rev. Qinton Floyd, Rev. Eugene Reid and Rev. W. H. McIntosh will officiate.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Vance Wilson of Selma, Tenn., and Mrs. K. D. Myers of Jackson; four grandchildren and two stepchildren; one brother, Jack Roberts of Magee; two sisters, Mrs. P. B. Grubbs of Magee and Haas Johnson of Proctor, Ark.
Active pallbearers will be nephews of the deceased. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the hospital at Whitfield and the following; Walter Johnson, Dr. Henry Boswell, Everett Lowery, B. D. Ducksworth, Charlie Grubbs, Rice Ainsworth, R. L. Tullos, Will McIntosh and A. J. Harrington.
Mims Mitchell funeral home is in charge of arrangements. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the service time.

Funeral services for Lem R. Roberts, age 65, were held Saturday, April 25 at 2:30 p.m. from the Goodwater Baptist church, Rev. Don Land officiating, assist ed by Rev. Quinton Floyd, Rev. Eugene Reid.
He passed away Friday, April 24, at Whitfield where he was living and employed as a dairyman there. He was a native of Simpson county but for the past several had been a resident of Whitfield.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. L. R. Roberts, Whitfield; two daughters, Mrs. Vance Wilson, Selma, Ala.; Mrs. K. D. Myers of Jackson; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two step children; one brother, Jack Roberts, Magee; two sisters, Mrs. P. B. Grubbs, Magee; Mrs. Haas Johnson of Proctor, Ark.
Interments made to the Goodwater cemetery with Mims Mitchell Funeral Home, Inc., in charge of all arrangements.
