FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. LOIS ROBISON

Funeral services were held in the Fillmore Ward Wednesday, April 6, for Mrs. Lois Thorpe Robison, 67, who died at her home here Monday morning. Mrs. Robison had been in poor health for several years. Born in Nottinghamshire, England, November 19, 1870, a daughter of Joseph and Rebecca Thorpe, Mrs. Robison came to Utah at the age of 15, shortly after joining the LDS Church. She was married in 1889 to Franklin Alonzo Robison. When a young woman she was active in church work, serving as stake board member for the Relief Society, and a teacher in the Mutual. For years she played the organ at various church gatherings and was a talented vocalist.

Speakers at the services were Peter L. Brunson, Dr. J. Frank Day, Parker Robison and Bishop Wells of Salt Lake City. The Singing Mothers sang "Crossing the Bar" and "Peace I Leave With Thee". A male quartette, F. Earl Stott, Thos. Whatcott, Edward and Vernon Peterson sang "Prayer Perfect" and Mrs. Olive Partridge played a violin solo, "End of a Perfect Day". Bishop Lorenzo Brunson conducted the services and offered brief closing remarks. J. Blake Davies pronounced the benediction. Mr. Shurtliff of Ogden, a brother-in-law, offered the opening prayer and Mr. Frank Robison dedicated the grave. Mrs. Robison is survived by six sons and two daughters; Mrs. Florence Allison of Salt Lake City; Nolan, Eldred and Alda Van Winkle of Los Angeles; Archie, Homer, Culbert and Lindon of Fillmore and 17 grandchildren.

Mrs. Robison possessed a ready wit which made for her a host of friends in whatever circle she chose to move. She will be missed not only by her family but by these many friends. Members of the family who came from out of town to attend the services were; Eldred and Nolan Robison and Mrs. Alda Van Winkle of Los Angeles, Mrs. Florence Ellison, her two sons, Bernard and Thomas and a daughter Lois of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Shurtliff of Ogden, Mrs. Clara Boyes (a sister), Bishop John Wells, his wife and two daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jacobson, Mrs. Josie Pack and Mr. and Mrs. Parker Robison and three children of Salt Lake City.
