Funeral Services for Mrs. M A Saxon at Wesley Chapel

From Wesley Chapel, at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, funeral services were held for Mrs. Myra Ann Saxon who died Saturday morning at the home of her son, O V Saxon, following an illness of long duration.

The officiating ministers were the Rev. E R Warhurst, the Rev. Lee Rhodes, the Rev. W C McCay and the Rev. D D Satterwhite. Burial was in the Wesley Chapel cemetery, with the Houston Funeral Home in charge.

Serving as pallbearers were Woodrow Brand, John Kellum, Fred Pearson, Jas Dulaney, Perry Pettit and Jim Blissard.

Mrs. Saxon was a native of Chickasaw County, the daughter of pioneer settlers, Mr. and Mrs. Meredith Carter. Had she lived about six weeks longer, she would have reached her 77th birthday. It was in this county that she spent her entire life being a good neighbor wherever she lived. For some time before her death she had made her home with her son and his wife. Besides Mr. Saxon, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Annie Hancock of Houlka and Mrs. Maude Valvell of McCool, Miss., and a number of grandchildren.

In addition to those attending the funeral from out of town were, Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Neal, D I Neal and Perry Neal , of Montgomery, Ala.; Sgt. And Mrs. W T Saxon of Camp Gruber, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. J F Saxon of Memphis; C K Saxon and two daughters of Philadelphia, Miss.; Mrs. J E Saxon and family of Holly Springs; Pvt. T J Valvell of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Woodrow Valvell of Wier; Mrs. Lee Evans and two daughters of Vardaman; Mr. and Mrs. J J Walters and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Lige Mims, Mrs. J T Meeks and Mrs. Josie Holloway, all of Aberdeen.
