Mrs. D I Neal Dies; Funeral this PM
Mrs. D I Neal, 70, died yesterday afternoon at four o'clock at her residence near Houston following a lengthy illness.
She was before her marriage to Mr. Neal fifty-two years ago, Miss Ella Carter. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W M Carter, she was born and reared in the house in which she died.
When young, she and Mr. Neal united with what is known as the old Center Hill Baptist church and later in it they were married. Until her last illness, Mrs. Neal had been a woman of unusual activity and was neighbor to all about her.
The funeral services will be held this afternoon from Wesley Chapel with the Rev. W C Stewart officiating.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Neal leaves four sons, D I Neal, Cameron Neal, and Perry Carter Neal, of Montgomery, Ala., and Paul Neal of Houston; three daughters, Mrs. Jack Chenault and Mrs. Porter Paden, of Houston and Mrs. Holly Harrington, of Talladega, Ala.; a brother, Morris Carter, of New Mexico and a sister, Mrs. Myra Saxon, of Houston and a large number of grandchildren also survive.
