Services Held For Nellie Lereta Laam
Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Lareta Laam 61, long time resident of Halfway, were conducted Thursday, Aug. 10 at the Pine Valley Community Church in Halfway.
Rev. Russell Booner of Halfway officiated interment followed in the family plot at Pine Haven Cemetery, Halfway under the direction of the Beatty Chapel.
Mrs. Laam passed away on Aug 7 in Olga Island in the San Juan Islands while on a camping trip.
Mrs. Laam was born on Sept. 29, 1911 at North Pine, Ore. the daughter of Zeno and Cora Ludiker Denney. She received her schooling in Pine Valley and lived there for many years. She was united in marriage to Seth Thomas Laam in Payette in 1929. He preceded her in death in November of 1964. She had resided in Moses Lake, Washington for the past eight years.
She is survived by one son, Richard S. Laam of Moses Lake, Wn; one brother, Noel Denney of Medford, Ore.; five grandchildren and one great grandson; several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Christian Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie L. Laam 61, Anacortes, Wn., will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug 10 at the Presbyterian Church in Halfway. The Rev Russell Booher, Presbyterian Church, Halfway will officiate and interment will be in Pine Haven Cemetery., Halfway, under the direction of the Beatty Chapel
Mrs. Laam was born Sept. 29, 1911 in Oregon, the daughter of Zeno and Cora Ludiker Denney, and lived for many years in Pine Valley. She passed away Monday morning in Anacortes, Wn., after a long illness.
