Seth Laam Was Richland Native
Funeral services for Seth Thomas Laam, 62, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Christian Church in Halfway. Interment follwed in Pine Haven Cemetery at Halfway, under the direction of The Beatty Chapel.
Mr. Laam was born July 7, 1902, at Richland, the son of Steven and Flora Kennon Laam. He attended schools in Richland, and was married to Nellie Denny in Weiser, Ida., Aug. 11, 1928, and the couple lived in Payette, Ida., for the next four years, and then moved to Pine Valley, Ore. Later, they moved to Portland, and returned to Pine Valley in 1938, returning to Portland in 1941. In March of this year, they moved to Goldendale, Wn., where Mr. Laam had operated the City Center Motel, until his death at home, Tuesday morning, Nov. 3.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Laam, Goldendale; his son, Richard Laam, Moses Lake; his brother, Homer, Union; by sisters, Frances Potter, Baker, Ethel McBratney, Bremerton, and Nina McNeil, Calgary, Alberta, Canada; by five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Another brother, Arthur Laam, preceded him in death in 1932.

PINE--Among those from outside points attending the funeral of Seth Laam Saturday were: Mrs. Nellie Laam of Goldendale, Wn., Mr. and Mrs. Dick Laam of Moses Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Laam of Union; Mrs. Frances Potter of Baker, Mrs. Nina McNeil of Calgary, Cananda. Dr. and Mrs. Edward McBratney of Bremerton, Wn.; Mrs. Isobe Gossett of Baker; Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Bud) Denney of Medford. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Griffen and family of Elgin; Doroth Martin and Jackie Eastlick of Pendleton; Capt. and Mrs. Kenneth Raabe of Vancouver; and Mrs. Garnett Denney of Eureka (CA). Mr. Laam was a former Pine Valley resident.
