On June 7, 1926 he was united in marriage to Nellie Genevieve Condray at Clay Center. Harold was a farmer and stockman who loved horses. He farmed northeast of Wells until moving to Miltonvale in 1958. They owned and operated Comfort's Cafe in Miltonvale for 3 years and Harold later drove a school bus for the Miltonvale schools. They moved to Minneapolis in 1982.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Wells and the Golden Wheel Senior Center at Minneapolis and was a former member of the Lions Club, Saddle Club and the Senior Center at Miltonvale.
Survivors include his wife Nellie "Neva" Comfort of the home; a daughter Shirley (Darrel) Cooper of Minneapolis; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great- great-grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by a son Harold Thayne "Buck" Comfort in 1982.
The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church or the Ottawa County Health Center, both of Minneapolis.
