Harold Thayne "Buck" Comfort died this past Saturday, March 6, 1982 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was 54 years old, having been born July 22, 1927 near Oak Hill, Ks. in Ottawa County, the son of Harold and Neva (Condray) Comfort.

Buck worked hard throughout his life. He was a truck driver for some years; a farmer;owner of a gas station in Delphos and finally a truck driver for McKain grain in Delphos. Buck served his country during W W II as a sailor in the U.S. Navy. And he served his community as a city councilman.

Buck was well-liked and respected. He had a rule in life, which he applied to himself and to his children. It was the Golden Rule; "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Buck was a deeply religious man, much more a thinker than a talker, and he trusted in the LOrd for his daily care.

Surviving are his wife Lillian whom he married in July 1950; his parents Harold and Neva Comfort, Miltonvale, Ks., a daughter Linda (Bill) Vaughn, of Salina, two sons, Bill (Beb), Littleton, Colorado and Rick (Lynn) of Downs,Ks. one sister Shirley (Darrel) Cooper, Wells, Ks., five grandchildren, Stacy, Kala, Jared, Rikki and Tara.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 9, 1982 at the first Presbyterian Church in Delphos. Burial will be in Delphos Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Kansas Neurological Society.
