Betty J. Callahan, 50, of 11 Holly Hill Drive, Alton, died at 6:40 a.m. today at St. Joseph Hospital after a lengthy illness.
The Dow native was the daughter of Gladys (Lewis) Palmer of Dow and the late Edgar E. Palmer. She married Bernard D. Callahan on November 20, 1946, in Jerseyville.
Suriving in addition to her husband, are two sons, Bernard Jr. at home and Brian D., with the Navy at Orlando, Florida; three daughters, Susan Kae Roark of alton, Karen Sue Esala of Sparta, IL, and Beverly Jean Landolt of East Alton; four grandchildren; a brother, Edgar Palmer Jr., of Dorsey; and three sisters, Eleanor Barnal of Elsah, Cora Walker of Cottage Hills, and Lora DeSherlia of Jerseyville.
