Valdina Wandell, daughter of Peder and Karine Thoreson Wandell, was born on June 21,1886, on a farm nine miles north of Colman. She attended rural school in Moody County and grew to womanhood on her parent's farm. The family moved to Flandreau in 1905. She was united in marriage to Edward Aaker at Flandreau on April 12, 1911, by the late Rev. J. A. Blilie. She worked with her husband in the Aaker General Store in Flandreau, South Dakota, until 1944, when they moved to a farm northwest of Flandreau. They returned to Flandreau in 1951, where she has since made her home. She assisted her husband in operation of a pop corn stand in Flandreau and continued this work following the death of her husband until ill health forced her to sell the business. She had spent her entire life in Moody County and was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Survivors: she is survived by six nieces and 11 nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and two sisters.
