Rose Mary Norville Harrison, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died Friday, February 7, 2020 at 91. Rose Mary was born December 30, 1928. She married Lawrence J. Harrison on October 8, 1949. She was predeceased by her husband; her parents, William J. Norville and Hattie Duggan Norville; her sisters, Mary Olivia Norville, Harriet C. Norville and Ann Norville Dacovich; her brother, William J. Norville, Jr.; her infant grandson, Jeptha Blackshear White-Spunner, III; her daughters-in-law, Debra L. Harrison and Teecie W. Harrison; her sons-in-law, Jay White-Spunner, Jr. and Dr. Jimbo Martin. Mrs. Harrison is survived by her six sons and her daughter. Sons: Lawrence J. (Christie) Harrison, Jr., Dallas, TX; Peter G. (Bobbie Gyne) Harrison, McCalla, AL; Wm. Norville Harrison, Mobile; J. Mark (Patti) Harrison, Greensboro, NC; James R. (Christine) Harrison, Mobile; Robert M. (Robin) Harrison, Hattiesburg, MS; Daughter: Judith H. White-Spunner Martin. Sister-in-law, Mary S. Norville, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Rose Mary was a 1946 Visitation Academy graduate. She was the founder and first chair for the Divine Mercy Program at Visitation Monastery. In 1984 she was commissioned an Ecclesiastical Lay Minister for the Archdiocese of Mobile. She was an active member of the Cursillo Program Team for many years and a dedicated volunteer at the St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Shop. Rose Mary was devoted to Little Flower Catholic Church where she was a Legion of Mary volunteer, an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and Lector. She was a past President of the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women. She retired from Spring Hill College. The family wishes to acknowledge the marvelous care provided Rose Mary by Ms. Marzella Westly and her family. Visitation will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church, 2053 Government Street, Mobile, AL 36606 at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 11, 2020 with Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Little Flower Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice.
