Mr. Ollie F. Ryan, 78, formerly of Canton, died at 4:10 a.m. Tuesday (May 12, 1987) in Monroe City Manor in Monroe City. Mr. Ryan was born July 11, 1908, in Clark County, the son of William T. and Annie Ahern Ryan. He was a lathe operator at Gardner-Denver Co. until his retirement. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, St. Patrick. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dean (Mary) McLaughlin, Quincy, Ill., and Mrs. Bill (Betty) Vail of Rush City, Minn.; six sons, Mike of Philadelphia, Mo., Pat of Emerson, Mo., Tim of Tulsa, Okla., Terry of Monroe City, Richard of Monroe City, and Bill of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Leota Fellers, Claredon Hills, Ill.; two brothers, Bill Ryan of Canton and Tom Ryan of Springfield, Ill.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister and one grandson. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in David Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
