* No "Lettie" on any census records, possible nickname?? Also believe she was born just AFTER census taken and died in 1883 before the next census. No "Reggie" either, but believe on 1880 census, a Charles R. son, born abt 1879, might be a Charles REGINALD (or similar spelling) and was known to family as "Reggie"?? He died with Lettie in a house fire in 1883 in Burdette Twp., Hand Co., SD.
* Children on Hammond, St. Lawrence Co.,NY 1880 census: all b. NY
Dau: Christiania -No middle initial - age 10
Son: John W. age 7
Son: Arthur E. age 4
Son: Medford A. age 2
Son: Charles R. age 1 *this one probably known as "Reggie"
----
David E. Keeler was found back in NY abt 1900-01 where he was admitted & discharged several times until 1912 in Nat'l Home for Disbled Volunteer Soldiers, 1866-1938 record, in Bath, Steuben Co., NY.
* I believe memorial # 27435563, for David E. Keeler b. Sept 30, 1840, but with no engraved date of death, is her husband. Also on stone are Clara & Carrie, twin daughters, b Oct 25, 1867 and died Sept 18, 1868. (Isn't it strange that twins both died on same day at nearly one year of age?) Burial is in Rarick cemetery, Hammond, St. Lawrence County, New York, USA where this family was known to have lived before coming to South Dakota. ...csr
