Ezekiel Redding and many others migrated from Virginia to Preble County, OH. He settled in what later became Lanier Twp. in honor of Alexander Chalmers Lanier who had settled in Eaton, the county seat, a few years prior to the Reddings. In 1850 Ezekiel Redding and family moved into northwestern Indiana on the Michigan border. Both he and his wife are buried in Dayton, Michigan.
Ezekiel is the son of Matthew Redding (abt.1747-abt.1783) and Elizabeth Lanier Redding (abt.1751-abt.1776)
