Lois Sells, 77, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2009 after a lengthy illness. She was a member of Knob Creek Church of the Breathern, where she attended regularly. She was a native of Carter County and lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Milton Markwood Edwards and Hannah Lee Hughes Edwards. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Mae Snodgrass, Bea Cable and Ruth O'Brian.

Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, William H. "Bill" Sells, daughter, Rita Sells, Johnson City, sons, Ricky Sells and his wife Mary, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Keith Sells and his wife Vickie, Louisville, Kentucky, One brother, Edward Edwards and his wife, Martha, Johnson City, three sisters; Gloria Houston, Surgoinsville, Tennessee, Irene Stanberry, Knoxville, Tennessee, Judy Hodge, Johnson City and brother-in-law, Jack Cable, Johnson City. Five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Tetrick Funeral Services with Pastor Alan Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 PM prior to the service. A graveside service will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Dallas Reagan, Denver King, Argil Hunt, Jeff Crowe, Jim Olinger and Doug Garland .

The family wishes to thank the hospice nurses for all of their special care and support.
