Dorothy E. Lauber Compton, 85, of North Syracuse, died Tuesday at The Crossings in Minoa. She was born in Malone to James and Bessie Lauber and graduated from Malone High School. After 40 years of service, she retired from the Rail Road on October 31, 1984. Her husband of 44 years, Edward G. Compton, predeceased her on November 26, 2002.
Surviving are four sons, David (Marie), Larry (Carol), Arthur (Patty) and James (Mary) Compton; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday, November 20 at 10 a.m. in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007.
