Deceased Name: EDWARD G. COMPTON

Edward G. Compton, 79, of North Syracuse died Tuesday. Born in Elbridge, he spent winters in Zephyrhills, Fla., for the past 10 years. He was maintenance supervisor for Allied Chemical in Solvay for 40 years until the plant closed in 1985. He was a member of Edwards-Wevers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7290 in North Syracuse and Riverside Country Club in Brewerton. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors: His wife of 44 years, Dorothy E. Lauber; four sons, David, Larry and James, all of Cicero, and Arthur of New Port Richey, Fla.; two sisters, Ruth Burinski of Liverpool and Lois Kraus of Syracuse; two brothers, James of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Richard of Daytona Beach, Fla.; 12 grandchildren. Graveside services: 2 p.m. Friday in Pine Plains Cemetery, Henry Clay Boulevard, Clay. No calling hours. Fergerson Funeral Home, North Syracuse, has arrangements. Contributions: American Heart Association, Upstate New York Chapter, 5575 Thompson Road, Syracuse 13214-1693.
