Son of William M. and Serena Susan Sutton Wallen. Jesse was a "drummer" (sales). He ran a small store in Mt. Vernon and in Texas he apparently made a business of selling popcorn.
Like his brother Oliver, he went to Texas thinking it would be good for his health and like his brother he too died of Tuberculosis as did the rest of his siblings and his mother. Jesse outlived the others by at least 10 years. He never married.
Jesse was buried without a tombstone.
