ESTELLA MAE SHERWOOD

Mrs. Estella Mae Sherwood, 92, died Monday, Jan. 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the IOOF Nursing Home, having been seriously ill a few days.

Mrs. Sherwood was born Jan. 11, 1889, in Buena Vista, the daughter of William and Mary Jane Huffman Abrams. She was a member of the Christian Church in Buena Vista.

She was married July 1, 1903 to Charles Sherwood in Metamora, and he preceded her in death Dec. 15, 1970. She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Coza Crawley and Mrs. Douglas (Dorothy) Anderson, both of Greensburg, Mrs. Arnold (Florence) Adkinson, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Mrs. Lyle (Helen) Lattin, Jerome, Idaho; two sons: Raymond Sherwood, Forrest Hill, Calif., and William Sherwood, Boise, Idaho; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Roy and Charlie Abrams; five sisters: Lula, Mary, Martha, Leona, and Maude and one granddaughter; Estella Powers, who died Jan. 10, 1981.

Mrs. Sherwood had been a guest at the IOOF Home three years and prior to that time had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Crawley, after her husband's death. She and her husband had resided on W. North for several years.

The services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Siefert officiating and with burial in the South Park Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
