Daniel Lee Ellison, 17, died April 5, 2010, in Hobbs, New Mexico. He was born March 5, 1993, in Hobbs.

Daniel was an active lifeguard. He was an amazing athlete and scholar and excelled at everything he did. Daniel was an outgoing person with a personality that sparkled! Daniel enjoyed playing on his computer and especially spending time with his family and friends.

Daniel was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, both maternal grandparents and his father, Daniel Bryan Ellison.

Survivors include his mother, Christina; and step-father, Johnny Rangel of Hobbs; three half-sisters, Ashley Abney, Amanda Abney, and Alicia Rangel; grandparents, Janet and Ron Ellison; and step-grandparents, Lucy and Juan Rangel; four uncles: Jamie Richardson, Ronnie Ellison, Will Ellison and Freddy Rangel, all the above are from Hobbs; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, loved ones and many friends.
