Edith C. Ware, 91, formerly of Innis Street, Oil City, died at 7:45 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2010, at Golden Livingcenter in Oil City, where she had been a resident.

Born Sept. 11, 1918, in Franklin, she was a daughter of the late William and Lillian Henderson Gaisford.

Mrs. Ware was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City and the Morris Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.

She was married July 4, 1936, to Ira Peter Ware, who preceded her in death April 24, 2005.

Surviving are three sons, Ira D. Ware and his wife, Rita, of Mechanicsburg, John W. Ware and his wife, Ruth, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Thomas D. Ware of Kissimmee, Fla.; a daughter, Sharon Barr of Kissimmee Fla.; six grandsons and several great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Gaisford; and two sisters, Clara Mitchell and Janet Gaisford.

Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at the Morrison Funeral Home in Oil City.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Howard Gaston, pastor of Second Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
