Alene Hopper Sloan, 81, of Sardis, died Friday, Nov. 12, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was born in Hardin County, daughter of the late Arlie and Eula Powell Hopper. She was united in marriage to Edward Sloan, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Sloan retired after 37 years at Brown Shoe Company. She was a member of Lebanon Methodist Church. Services were held Saturday, Nov. 13, at Lebanon Methodist Church with Irene Chandler officiating. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery. She is survived by one brother, James T. Hopper of Saltillo. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Mayrene Thompson.
