Arthur Andress of Downingtown

Arthur Andress, 83, of Downingtown, died quietly at home Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007.
He was the husband of Muriel Cook Andress, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Casper and Ethel Shaw Andress.
Arthur served in the Pacific Campaign at the end of World War II.
After his service to our country, he worked for the Farm Bureau and the spent many years with the United States Postal Service.
He always loved traveling and camping.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Gerri Wilimzig of Honey Brook; a son, the Rev. Geoff Andress of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will take place at Messiah Lutheran Church, 46 W. Lancaster Ave., Friday, Jan. 12, 7 p.m., with Pastor James Gulotta officiating.
A private interment will be at London Grove Friends Meeting Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 46 W. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, PA 19335; or to Hospice Care at Neighborhood Health Agencies, 795 E. Marshall St., Suite 204, West Chester, PA 19380.
Arrangements are being handled by the James J. Terry Funeral Home Inc., of Downingtown.
