Emon French, 93, Maple Road, Campbellsville, daughter of the late George Whitlock & Sarah Lee Boswell Whitlock, was born in Taylor County, April 18, 1895. She died at 8:23 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 1989, in Campbellsville after an illness. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She united in marriage to George French on March 14, 1914. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1978. She was also preceded in death by: 2 daughters and 1 son, Bertha French in 1936, Dorothy French in 1939 and Charlie French on January 16, 1969. She is survived by 2 daughters and 5 sons, Mildred Wheatley and Opal Scott, both of Louisville, Chester French and Walter French, both of Campbellsville, Willie French, Finley, and Roy French and Kenneth French, both of Raywick; 37 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Hazel Peterson, Elizabethtown; several other relatives and many friends. The funeral was at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Otis C. Skaggs. Burial was at the Mt. Washington Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Durham, Kenny French, Donald French, Bobby French, Calvin Durham and Mike French.
