here are 2 birth dates for Ray. The first, 10 Jul 1883, was in every record until the WWI Draft Registration which then listed it as 24 Jul 1884, which allowed him to less than 35 and eligible for the draft. This last date was used until his death. Since birth records identify 10 Jul 1883 as the date, this must be his true birth date. The later date was probably held on to match his military records.
