Charles William Johnson was the son of Benjamin Franklin and Sophia (Shaw) Johnson. He was a blacksmith by trade, and then a farmer later in life. He married Rosa T Straub, and they had 7 children: Walda, Carl, Earl, Arthur, Geneva, Donald and Ethelda. Charles married second to Virginia Edna Armstrong, and they had a daughter Doris Johnson. Charles died at the age of 70.
