Son of Ricey Davis Jones and Ann Howell

Married Ellen Jane Stark, 28 Dec 1887, Logan, Cache, Utah

Children - William Stark Jones, Paul Jones, Afton Ella Jones

"William Howell Jones was born on 7 October 1858, the son of Welsh immigrants Ricy Davis Jones and Anne Howell. When William was nine years old his mother filed for divorce. Almost a year later she married John D. Burt. In his new family, William was able to get an education and grew up into a talented well-adjusted young man. In 1883 he was called on a mission in the Southern States and served in Mississippi and Alabama. He grew into a talented debater and caught the attention of the acting mission president B. H. Roberts. Because of his public speaking skills, he was assigned to tour the mission with John H. Gibbs. In 1884, his companion was shot and killed at Cane Creek in Tennessee. One of the vigilantes helped William escape the same fate. After his mission Jones married Ellen Jane Stark on 28 December 1887 in Logan, Utah. They had three children: William Stark Jones, Paul Jones, and Afton Ella Jones. Jones worked as a teacher for several years in Millard County and Wayne County, Utah. He died on 6 May 1918 in Brigham City, Utah."
