Formerly of Charlesburg. Age 98, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 1989, in Samaritan Home.
She was born May 2, 1890, in the Town of Woodville, the daughter of the late John and Theresa Suttner Eckes. She was married to Joseph Suttner on November 28, 1911, in St. John; he preceded her in death on December 13, 1951. She farmed with her husband in the Town of Brothertown for 42 years. She was a member of Divine Word Catholic Church, Cedarburg, and St. Charles Christian Mothers.
She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Tharsilla Brandel, Lake Elsinore, California; Mrs. Dolores Schaefer, Stockbridge; Rosemary Suttner, Stockbridge; Mrs. Gerald (Emily) Krug, Jackson; three sons and daughters-in-law: Cyril and Thelma Suttner, Chilton; Herbert and Rosetta Suttner, New Holstein; and Paul Suttner, Curtiss, Wisconsin; 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; nine great-greatgrandchildren; and three sisters: Mrs. Theresa Witzke, Appleton; Mrs. Anne Krueger, Sherwood; Sister Francis Jome, Appleton. She was also preceded in death by five grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Charles Catholic Church, Charlesburg, with the Reverend David Christel and Kenneth Frozena officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wieting Schneider Funeral Home, Chilton, from 3 until 9 p.m. on Friday, and then on Saturday from 7:45 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. when family rites will be held. Parish vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Mary Suttner for the Samaritan Home.
