Lee Andrew Gary was a son of Issac William Gary and Nancy Ann (Wright) Gary. Lee's paternal Grandfather Govy Gordon Gary traveled with his parents (Lee's great grandparents) William Whitten Gary and Rutha(Gordon) Gary, both born in SC, and members of their family for many years to reach Texas in 1849. Govy's wife and Lee's paternal grandmother was a strong, self reliant woman of those times, Mary Ann Jackson (Carter) Gary. Mary Ann Jackson Carter born in TN in 1829 was a daughter of William Carter. The family story is that she was named Jackson for middle name after her father's hero, Andrew Jackson.

Nancy Ann Wright was a daughter of James Paymer Wright and Louisiana Jacks, both born in La, married in Sabine Parish, LA and came to Trinity County, TX abt 1852 with James Paymer Wright's parents, Lt. Col. Robert Dawson Wright and wife Eleanor Dickerson.

Lee Andrew Gary and Evie Robbins married Sep 20, 1905, Sabine County, Texas. Eva (Robbins) Gary was born Aug 13, 1888 San Augustine Co., TX to Joel Simon Robbins and Sarah Elizabeth Fonville, both natives of MS and - died Aug 31, 1907, age 19 years. Lee and Eva had one child, a son, C. B. Gary born Aug 21, 1907 - died Jan, 19, 1978, in Wright City, OK. Evie died a few days after their son's birth. C. B. Gary married Katie Rogers on Aug 1, 1928 in Newton Co., TX. when he was age 20 and she was 18.

Lee Andrew Gary, a farmer, married Addie Louise (Miller) Grisham May 5, 1912 San Augustine Co., TX. Addie was the widow of P. Freeman Grisham, whom died May 21, 1906, Zwolle, LA, three months before their only child, Hattie Earline Grisham was born August 1906 - died Dec 17, 1972.

Hattie "Earline" Grisham grew up and married Isaac Douglas "Doug" Wright, born April 22, 1907 TX - died April 13, 1976 TX, a son of George Asrel Wright and May Bell (Curry) Wright of Brookeland, Sabine Co., TX. Isaac "Doug" and Hattie "Earline" Wright are in Brookeland Cemetery, Sabine County, TX. Son Glen Grisham "Gris" Wright was born Mar 13, 1936 - died Oct 13, 2007. Glen Wright married Inez Beckworth (b 1939 - d 2010 TX). Both Remlig Cemetery, Brookeland, Sabine Co., TX.

Lee and Addie's daughter Lola Gary was born Feb 15, 1913 TX - died Dec 17, 2002 Huntsville, TX, burial unknown. Her first husband was Thomas McDonald; her second husband was Wayne Evans who died Aug 1980.

Lee and Addie's son Mabrey Lee Gary born Nov 21, 1915 San Augustine Co., TX married Sybil Louise Brewster born Nov 9, 1919. Mabrey Lee Gary died March 14, 2001 in Jasper Co., TX. Sybil Brewster Gary died July 2, 2004 in Beaumont, Jefferson County, TX. She was buried Magnolia Cemetery, Jasper Co., Texas, beside her husband of 67 years, Mabrey Lee Gary.

Lee and Addie's second son Willie B. Gary was born Sep 21, 1918. Willie Gary married Myrl Bradshaw who was born May 1, 1920 and died Dec 8, 1978 in Orange, TX. They were the parents of two children.

Fourth child, name unknown.

In 1930 US Census Precinct 4 District 7 San Augustine County, Texas, Enumerated by Hay H. Byley on Nov 1930: Lee Gary was a 46 year old farmer, owned his farm, resided with Addie age 42 his wife. Their children were born in Texas: Lola age 16, Mabrey age 14, Willlie B. age 11; step-daughter Earline Grisham age 20, born TX, father born MS, mother born TX; Mildred Miller niece age 5 1/12 born TX.

Lee Andrew Gary died March 9, 1950, Jasper, Jasper County, Texas. Wood Cemetery, San Augustine County, Texas as many Garys before him.

Addie Miller Grisham Gary died August 3, 1950, buried at Brookeland Cemetery, Sabine Co., Texas, where her first husband P. Freeman Grisham and her parents rest.
