Age 61 years, died Wednesday, September 6, 2000 of cancer at his residence in Georgia.
Survived by his wife of 34 years, Joan (nee Anderson); a daughter, Deborah; two sons, Richard and Michael; his mother, Ann Piskur; two brothers, Tom, and Larry, two sisters, Judy Pomatto and Mary Ellen Head; his mother-in-law, Dolores Anderson; five sisters-in-law and 3 brothers-in-law; also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his bedside companions: Stubby, Totts and Ren.
Preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. Piskur in 1992.
He was born in Joliet, he was a life-long resident until moving to Georgia in 1998. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, Joliet Catholic High School and Lewis University. He served in the U.S. Army 1962-1964. He was a former employee of the E.J. & E. R.R., Argonne National Labs and Eagle Properties Inc. Former member of The Carpenters Local #174, he was self-employed for 17 years as a General Contractor, recently employed by Archstone Communities.
At his request, Joe's remains were cremated. A memorial visitation will be held at the Grant-Tapella-Freitag Westwood Memorial Chapel on Sunday, September 24, 2000 from 2 pm until memorial services at 3 pm, Rev. Richard Ross officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Joe's memory to a charity or organization of your choice.
