"Guy Lorn Vanderhoof, 89, of Irvine, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Elizabeth Fitzgerald in Irvine, at 4:06 pm Wednesday, Jan 15, 1986, after an extended illness. Mr Vanderhoof was born in Townville, Oct 18, 1896, a son of James R and Dehlia (sic) [Delia] Simmons Vanderhoof. He operated a farm in the Lottsville area most of his life. For seven years before his retirement Mr Vanderhoof was employed at Warren State Hospital. He is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Lillie, Killeen, Texas, Elizabeth Fitzgerald, Irvine, and Mrs Norman (Maxine) Mitchell of Spring Creek; one son, Guy Vanderhoof Jr of Pittsfield; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs Gerald (Amelia) Wingert, Sarasota, Fla; and one brother, Clarence Vanderhoof, Spartansburg. Mr Vanderhoof was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Minnie Maude Rieck Vanderhoof, who died Oct 24, 1982; four brothers, Roy, Orville, Herman and Clement Vanderhoof; [and] four sisters, Mayne Hanvan (sic) [Mayme Hanavin], Myrtle Higley, Mabel Stockton and Mildred Davidison (sic) [Davison]. Friends will be received at the McKinney Funeral Home in Youngsville...A funeral service will be held there Saturday at 3:30 pm with Rev Robert Zorn, pastor of Irvine Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Spartansburg Cemetery."
