ALFRED NORTHOVER - Alfred Northover, a resident at Bedford Manor, passed away January 6, 1994 at Bedford Manor at age 89.

Alfred was born in Hopkins, Mo. July 16, 1904 to Edward [Alfred] and Mamie [May] Esme [Esmay] Northover. He was one of four sons and two daughters.

He attended public schools in Hopkins and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

In the early 1930s, he was united in marriage to Frances [Marion] Lemon Dragoo in Maryville, Mo. and they lived in Bedford, Iowa until she died in 1969. They raised two daughters, Mrs. Phyliss Blend and Mrs. Marilyn Crawford.

In 1971 he married Alma McMillen who survives him at the family home in Bedford.

Alfred, who was known as a work oriented man, had farmed, had been a self-employed handyman, and worked at Prugh Hardware Store. In the late years, Alfred and Alma raised a very large garden at their Bedford residence.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, three brothers, Woodrow, Edward and Harry, and two sisters, Mrs. Merle Smith and Mrs. Esther Moore.

He leaves to mourn, his wife Alma; two daughters, Mrs. Richard Crawford and Mrs. Phyllis Blend; three grandchildren; seven stepchildren; 23 step grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Harry Northover.
