Born in Horse Valley, Franklin Co., PA to William Sprowl and Ruanna (Varner) Sprowl. Henrietta was the 2nd wife of the Honorable Judge Thomas G. Gracey, they had 11 children: William S., Margaret S., Jesse H., Thomas A., Samuel C., Joseph H., Frances Jane "Jennie", Robert H., Alice A., John, & Ida M. Gracey.

"Mrs. Henrietta Gracey, 84 years old, widow of Thomas Gracey, died on Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Richard Alloway, New Grenada. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Surviving are the following children: Samuel Gracey, of Mt. Union; Robert, of Philadelphia; John, of Woodvale; Mrs. Frank Horton, of Johnstown; Mrs. Richard Alloway, of New Grenada. Surviving are forty-four grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial at the Center Church Cemetery."
