GLADE SPRING, Va. Mildred Lucille Parker Rouse, age 87, of Glade Spring, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at her residence. She was a life long resident of Washington County, Virginia, and was a daughter of the late George Alexander Parker and Effie Catherine Phillippi Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Quinton Rouse; two sons, Michael Ray Rouse and an infant twin of Roger Rouse; three brothers, Lloyd M. Parker, Herbert J. Parker, and Virgil J. Parker; and six sisters, Ruby C. Hamm, Ora Lee Folden, Pearly M. Beavers, Virgie L. Abell, Grace C. Parker, and Eleanor M. Gentry. She was a seamstress and a member of High Point Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:45 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Garrett Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. Saturday in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Widener Valley Community Cemetery, Glade Spring, Virginia. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Those who wish to attend the committal service are asked to meet at cemetery by 1:45 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 207 N. Boone Street #1500, Johnson City, TN 37604.
