Catherine Adams, 12 years old, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Adams of this city, died yesterday at Silverton, Ore. She was taken ill about two weeks ago with what seemed to be diphtheria but which later proved to be septic sore throat. She was apparently improving nicely when conditions changed a few days ago and death came suddenly. Mrs. W. L. Adams and Mrs. W. G. Eberting left Hoquiam for Silverton yesterday.
Gaylord Adams left Hoquiam for Seattle several days ago. He was at the Frye Hotel when news came of the death of his daughter and left immediately for Silverton.

Catherine Adams Rites at Trinity
Funeral services for Catherine Adams, 12-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Adams, will be held from Trinity Episcopal church at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. George G. Ware officiating. The body arrived last night from Silverton, Ore., in charge of relatives who left here immediately on news of her death Tuesday.
Miss Adams died after an illness of about two weeks. She was born in Hoquiam June 27, 1910, and had lived here practically all her life. She was a student in the Hoquiam junior high school, and had been confirmed in the Episcopal church. The body is now at the Pinnick parlors.
