Mrs. Vada Garber Barnhart, 78, of Rt. 8, Harrisonburg died Tuesday morning at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in McGaheysville.

Mrs. Barnhart had been ill several years and had been staying with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David H: Barnhart, 3 weeks.

She was born Dec. 1, 1899 in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late Charles and Mollie Garber Heatwole.

She spent most of her life in the Dayton and Harrisonburg communities.

Mrs. Barnhart was a member of Pike Mennonite Church.

On March 9, 1919, she married Charles G. Barnhart, who died July 3, 1971.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Catherine Miller of Dayton; four sons, John A. Barnhart of Hephzibah, Ga., David H. Barnhart of Rt. 1, McGaheysville, James H. Barnhart of Rt. 2, Dayton and Paul R. Barnhart of Stuarts Draft; three sisters, Mrs. Dan G. Barnhart of Rt. 5, Harrisonburg, Mrs. Jossie Butzler of Dayton and Mrs. Daniel J. Myers of Rt. 8, Harrisonburg; a brother, Warren Heatwole of Rt. 5, Harrisonburg; 23 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday at the Weavers Mennonite Church by the Rev. Charles L. Heatwole and the Rev. Mono S. Brunk.

Burial will be in the church cemetery and will be conducted by Bishop, John B. Risser.

The body is at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends 7 - 8 p.m. today.
