Mrs. Olga Kjellen, 73, of Corning RD 1, died Sunday afternoon in Corning Hospital following a long illness. For the past 35 years she had resided in Corning where she was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church and the Linnea Lodge of the Vassa Order.
Mrs. Kjellen was born in Sweden, April 12, 1881, the daughter of Olaf and Maria Hanson. Her husband Hels Kjellen, died here in 1946.
Surviving are two sons: Rudolph of Corning and William of Gibson; three sisters: Mrs. Anna Tapper of Campbell, Mrs. Sophia Seastrom of Whittier, Cal. and Mrs. Gerda Anderson of Corning; three brothers: Otto Hanson of Ferenbaugh, John of Bath and Hans of California; three grandchildren.
The body is at the Carpenter Funeral Home in Corning where friends may call this evening and Tuesday from 3 until 5 and 7 until 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted there Wednesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Carl Eliason, pastor of the Emanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Coopers Plains Cemetery.
She also had a daughter, Hildur Kjellen (1918-1947).
