OAKTON, Va. -- Mrs. Margaret Helton Stacy, 85, of Oakton, Va., formerly of Richlands, Va., passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at her home following a brief illness.
A native of Richlands, she was a daughter of the late Claude W. and Mae Rebecca Stinson Helton. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Richlands. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Needham E. Stacy. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family in her generation.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy C. Stacy of the home, and Janice R. Shortridge of Vienna, Va.; two granddaughters, Debora Shortridge of Melbourne, Fla. and Mrs. Rick (Karen) Cole of Richmond, Va.; four great grandchildren, Travis Cole, Patrick H. A. Cole, Nickolas W. Cole and Stacy M. Cole; and one brother-in-law, Fayne E. Stacy and his wife, Gaye of Richlands.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel, Cedar Bluff, Va., with Rev. Gerald Stacy officiating. Burial will follow at the Hankins Cemetery, Richlands.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, P. O. Box 1307, Richlands.
