James Louis Cooper, age 78, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was a 40 year resident of Goldsmith. He was born in Stanton, Texas on Nov. 16, 1931. He retired from Phillips Petroleum after 43 1/2 years.

Survivors - Wife: Dorothy Cooper, 4 children, 3 sisters, 1 brother, 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Hazel Robbins; father: Cecil Cooper; and sister: Lucille Cooper.

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell. Interment will be at a later date at Union Hill Cemetery of Howell County, MO. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory
