JOHNSON, Emory L. Age 71 of 5 Airport Road, Horseheads, NY, Tuesday August 6, 1996. Mr. Johnson was born February 21, 1925 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Harry C. and Deletha Gardner Johnson. He was a Veteran of WWII serving his country with the U.S. Army. Mr. Johnson was a self-employed Sawyer and had also worked in several lumber mills in the area. He was a charter member of the Chemung Valley Old-timer’s Association. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law; Harry N. and Carolee Johnson of Marietta, Ohio, Lee E. and Rachel Johnson of Horseheads, NY, grandchildren; Mitchell Reid, Leah Jean, Kelley Anne, and Joshua Michael, sister and brother-in-law; Louise and Francis Palmer of Horseheads, NY, brothers and sister-in-law; Frank E. Johnson of Horseheads, NY, Roger and Karen Johnson of Horseheads, NY, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends are invited to call at The Van Buskirk-Lynch Funeral Home Mill St. and Grand Central Ave. Horseheads, NY Wednesday 7-9 PM. Mr. Johnson’s Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 11 AM with Rev. Stewart C. Rogers officiating. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery where full Military honors will be accorded Mr. Johnson. The family will provide their own flowers and those wishing may remember Mr. Johnson through memorials to the Bath Veteran’s Medical Center, Bath NY 14810.
