Mini-Biography

This was Rosine (Semerau) Ristow. She was the the daughter of Johann Jacob Semerau & Louise Schmidt also of Pempersin.

Her original maiden name spelling was "Ristau". She was born October 1827 in Pempersin, Kreis Flatow, West Prussia. Rosine married Daniel Ristau February 27, 1848

Her husband Daniel Ristau & children immigrated to America on the S.S. Atalanta and arrived in New York on May 8, 1858. She was also the first of her Semerau siblings, nephews and oousins to arrive in America.

Daniel Ristau was drafted into the U.S. Civil War and died in Georgia on Sherman's March November 27, 1864. The body was never recovered and exact location is unknown.

Rosina/Rosine was married 3 additional times. Her 2nd marriage was to Aaron Fielding on April 10, 1865. This marriage was very short lived and they had a daughter Amelia Fielding. Rosina and Aaron divorced when the baby was 3 months old but her tombstone her name reverts back to Ristow. Amelia Fielding eventually went to live with her Aunt Sedonia(Fielding) Broomhead in Michigan.

There's a listing here on findagrave for an Aaron Fielding in Eau Clair County, This MAY or MAY NOT be the correct Aaron Fielding Aaron Fielding I don't know how I'm ever going to prove this as of April 2013.

Rosine's 3rd marriage was to William Schultz February 21, 1891 which took place in Corning, Lincoln County, Wisconsin. This was also short lived for some reason because William disappears. 4th marriage was to an unknown Uknown Zeibell. Again, Zeibell disappeared and Rosine's headstone states her original married last name of "Ristow".

Rosine had a younger brother, Paul Semerau who immigrated and lived in Stettin, Marathon County, Wisconsin. He stood up for her wedding to Aaron Fielding.

Younger sisters, Caroline (Semerau) Karau & Susanne (Semerau) Ringhandt, both of Pine River, Lincoln County.

An older half-brother, Martin SEMROW of Newton, Marquette County, Wisconsin.

A cousin, Friedrich "Gottlieb" SEMRAU, of Pine River, Lincoln County, Wisconsin.

A nephew, John A. SEMRO of Washington state.

Her brother, Michael Semerau, stayed behind in West Prussia and his descendants left West Prussia and came to the Berlin, Germany area, where his descendants still reside today.

New info for December 2, 2011. Info on one of Rosine's husband (ex-husband) Aaron Fielding.

As their marriage record states, Aaron Fielding was the son of Aaron Fielding and Ann Rimmington, but he was born in Lincolshire, Eng in 1826. He was baptized as Owston, Lincolnshire on 28 May 1826. His mother was buried at Owston on 9 Jul 1832, and his father Aaron died before his own father William Fielding wrote his will in 1837. Aaron and Rosina had a daughter Amelia "Millie" who was born 1866 in Merrill, though she was listed as age 6 in the 1870 census with her father in Maine, WI. Amelia was with her a father's sister, Sendonia (Fieldling) Broomhead for the 1880 census. Millie married Henry Lincoln Lackey on 5 Jan 1887 in Clark, SD and returned to settle in Michigan near her aunt Sendonia by 1903. I have suggested Millie be linked to her mother. Millie's obit does mention her half sisters Augusta Dudley and Catherine Bielke [Caroline Beilke].
