This was Martin Semrow. The son of Johann Jacob Semerau & Anna Elisabeth Caro. He was born November 12, 1817 in Pempersin, Kreis Flatow, West Prussia. He married Eva Rosine Ristau November 28, 1845 in Zbose, West Prussia. She was the daughter of Johann Ristau and Anna Garz.

Surname spelling changed from SEMERAU to SEMROW & SEMRAU after immigrating to America.

The family immigrated to America June 10, 1872 on the S.S. Koln and settled in Newton, Marquette County, Wisconsin.
