Walter Nathaniel Hart was the son of John Waller Hart and Elizabeth Hathorn. He married Mamie Lee Slocumb. They had three children; Lois Hart, Frances Hart, anf Wyolene Hart.

WALTER N. HART
Walter Nathaniel Hart, a trustee of the Tattnall Square Baptist Church and brother of Jesse B. and Freeman Hart, of Macon, died in a private hospital at 3:15 o'clock Wednesday morning after an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Hart's mortuary at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Dr. E. F. Campbell, pastor of the Tattnall Square Baptist church, and Dr. H. M. Fugate, pastor of the First Baptist church, of Valdosta, will conduct the service. Interment will be in the family plot in Riverside cemetery. Dr. Fugate is a former pastor of the Tattnall Square church.
Mr. Hart was the son of John Waller Hart and Elizabeth F. Hawthorne Hart. He was born in Bibb county Aug. 10, 1873, and moved to Macon from Montpelier Springs with his parents in 1887. His home here was at 735 College street.
Attended Mercer
After completing grammar school here he attended Mercer University at the University of Georgia, at Athens, then he taught schools first a number of years in Jones county and later in Houston county.
Active Churchman
As a young man Mr. Hart joined the First Baptist church and when the Tattnall Square Baptist church was organized he became a charter member of that church. At the time of his death he was the last active charter member, serving on the board of deacons the last several years. He was a former secretary of the deacons and a member of the board of trustees, and for several years president of the Men's Bible class. He was also an honorary member of the W.C.T.U.
Mr. Hart was a member of several fraternal organizations, including Macon Lodge No. 5, F. and A.M., Constatine Chapter No. 4, Macon Consistory, Syracuse Lodge, K. of P., Franklin Lodge No. 2, I. O. O. F., and Al Shihah Temple of the Shrine. After teaching school a number of years he accepted a position with the Georgia Southern and Florida railroad company as auditor and a few years ago he became secretary of Hart's mortuary and also the Bibb Realty company with offices in the Bibb building.
Survivors: Besides his widow, the former Miss Mamie Slocumb, of Jones county, now of this city, three daughters survive, Mrs. Walter Wheeler, Mrs. Charles Baldwin and Miss Wyolene Hart; a grandchild, Lois Wheeler, six, all of this city; three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. D. A. Warlick, of Macon, Mrs. John Koons of C????, and Mrs. Ed Adams, of New York. Jesse B. Hart and J. Freeman Hart of Macon, also a number of nieces and nephews, stepmother, Mrs. Ella Hart, of Macon.
Active pallbearers will be Henry Whitehead, Harry Chapman, W. J. Bradley, Baily Mozo, S. J. T. Price and W. W. Hartness. Deacons of the church of which he was a member will serve as honorary escort.
